the sculptors Lucien den Arend and the late Kari Huhtamo lived and worked
in Finland Finnish sculptor Kari Huhtamo was born in Rovaniemi, Finland,
and worked in Helsinki and Hirvensalmi. Finnish/Dutch sculptor Lucien den
Arend was born in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, lived in the United States,
and now lives and works in Kangasniemi, Finland; both sculptors created
geometric abstract sculpture using geometrical forms: den Arend’s sculpture
is mathematically structured, while Huhtamo’s geometric sculpture was inspired
by the geometry of nature.

Kari Huhtamo makes sculptures in stainless
steel, coated steel, bronze and other materials. The sculptor makes virtual
sculpture, reliefs, mobiles, wall hangings.
He makes free standing works as well as public sculpture. All public sculptures
are site specific, using the environment in which the sculpture is installed
in his overall vision pertaining to the scale, color and exact location
of the sculpture.

Lucien den Arend makes sculptures in stainless

The sculptor makes geometric concrete sculpture, environmental and landscape
